Petrol prices likely to rise from August 16

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): A slight increase in the price of petrol and a major reduction in the price of diesel are expected from August 16.

According to sources, the petroleum industry has recommended reducing diesel by Rs11.75 per liter, and the price is likely to be reduced from Rs285.83 to Rs274.8 per liter from August 16.

Petrol is proposed to be increased by Rs1.32 to Rs265.93 per liter, while the current price of petrol is Rs264.61 per liter.

Kerosene oil is expected to be Rs179.21 per liter after a decrease of Rs6.25. Light diesel is expected to be Rs163.25 after a decrease of Rs7.11.

OGRA will send a summary to the federal government today, August 15, based on its working. A notification of the new prices will be issued after the approval of the Prime Minister.

It is important to note that petrol (gasoline) prices have already increased by 12 rupees over the past three months. Any further increase could be disastrous for the lower-income segment of the population.
