According to a notification from the Cabinet Division, there will be a public holiday in Pakistan on August 14 on Pakistan Day, while Chehlum Imam Hussain (Arbaeen) will fall on Friday, August 15.

The Chehlum holiday is not included in the federal holidays, however, in the case of a provincial-level local holiday, there will be a holiday in the relevant areas. Last year, a public holiday was declared on the occasion of Chehlum in Rawalpindi and Karachi.
In the event of a Chehlum holiday in certain areas, the holidays of Thursday, August 14, Friday, August 15, Saturday, August 16, and Sunday, August 17 may be combined.
Authorities have ordered strict security arrangements to maintain peace and order on the occasion of Independence Day and Chehlum.
