ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): The government of Pakistan has decided to extend the closure of its airspace to Indian aircraft for another month. This decision will be announced through a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) issued today.

It should be noted that Pakistani airspace was closed to Indian aircraft on April 24, after which it was extended for one month on May 23.

Now the NOTAM for the second phase of restrictions is going to end today, and at its end, a NOTAM will be issued closing the airspace for another month.

The NOTAM issued by the Government of Pakistan will detail the closure of Pakistani airspace to Indian air traffic. The restriction was imposed in view of the current tensions with India and is aimed at ensuring airspace security.

The closure of Pakistan s airspace makes it difficult for Indian aircraft to pass through certain routes. This restriction will apply to Indian aircraft, but Pakistan s airspace will remain open for other international flights.
