(Web Desk): Pakistan has announced plans to expand the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration Wing’s international presence by establishing new link offices in six countries.

Three of these offices will be located in Europe—in the United Kingdom, Spain, and Italy—while additional offices will be set up in Turkey, Malaysia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as revealed by official sources.

Multiple human trafficking networks targeting Pakistan operate from these countries, prompting the government to strengthen its international operations, highlighted FIA officials. After the recent investigation exposed the involvement of overseas criminal networks in human smuggling cases, the decision was made.

The new offices will focus on tracking trafficking routes, monitoring international travel patterns, and coordinating efforts with host country authorities. Additionally, foreign businessmen and tourists will be assisted by the new offices by providing enhanced facilitation and services for legitimate travelers.

Cooperation with partner countries will be bolstered through this initiative, as per authorities, and it will also play a crucial role in dismantling organized human trafficking rings operating across borders, reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to combating this grave issue.
