
PNS Shamsheer and USS Fitzgerald participated in the Passage Exercise (PASSEX), a series of professional naval interactions aimed at enhancing interoperability, according to a press release by the Pakistan Navy.
The exercise reasserted the mutual commitment of both navies to ensuring maritime security and fostering regional stability.
In addition, the Maritime Centre of Excellence (MCE) in partnership with Centre for International Strategic Studies (CISS) conducted a Workshop on Strategic Issues at Pakistan Navy War College (PNWC) in Lahore. Vice Chief of the Naval Staff (VCNS) Vice Admiral Ovais Ahmed Bilgrami was present as the chief guest.

In his speech, the VCNS touched upon the new dynamics of strategic stability in South Asia, affirming Pakistan s resolve to enhancing stability in the region.
President MCE, Rear Admiral Jawad Ahmed, received the participants and honorary speakers. Scholars on hand deliberated on the recent Pakistan-India crisis of May 2025 and pointed out that the current strategic mindset of India is driven by an extremist vision for regional hegemony.
The workshop assembled policymakers, diplomats, academics, journalists, and defense experts for an intensive exchange on security challenges and strategic trends.
