
The PTCL internet outage also affected Ufone, while other telecom operators including Jazz, Zong and Telenor, who rely on PTCL’s wholesale bandwidth, reported service disruptions as well.
Global internet watchdog NetBlocks confirmed a significant internet outage in Pakistan, noting that national connectivity had dropped to nearly 20 percent of ordinary levels. Many users flooded social media with complaints of PTCL down, asking why the internet is not working in Pakistan today.
A PTCL spokesperson acknowledged the issue, saying, “Our teams are diligently working to restore the services as quickly as possible. We regret any inconvenience caused.” However, no official reason was given for why PTCL is not working today.

Sources in the Ministry of IT and Telecom suggested a possible technical fault at PTCL’s submarine cable landing station in Karachi’s Clifton area, ruling out a major undersea cable cut. “It’s a nationwide outage now with upstream traffic facing issues,” an official explained.
PTA confirmed that technical teams were actively working to resolve the internet issue in Pakistan today. IT Minister Shaza Fatima linked the problems to prolonged power outages and network congestion in Karachi, where millions of mobile subscribers were impacted.
Over 200 telecom towers were also reported damaged in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa floods, further straining connectivity. Residents in Karachi’s flooded neighborhoods described losing contact with loved ones as the internet in Pakistan and mobile networks struggled.
The disruption, one of the most severe in recent years, has left frustrated subscribers asking whether the internet down in Pakistan will persist and when PTCL internet will be fully restored.
