While appearing on a private TV channel, NADRA spokesperson Shabbahat Ali pointed out that the new system will facilitate registration troubles for senior citizens, and age-related fingerprint troubles would no longer bar them from accessing basic services.
He emphasized the need for early child registration and mentioned that "failure to register a child at birth robs them of their basic rights." For children below the age of 18, NADRA has the Juvenile Card, which is valid until they reach adulthood.
Ali told that CNIC of a parent is required during the application of an ID card for a child whether the other parent is present or not. For divorcees, documents are required with a Union Council certificate.

The spokesperson also disclosed that Karachi has 359 NADRA counters running currently, with expansion in the pipeline to facilitate service delivery. He pointed out that the new facial recognition option will greatly benefit senior citizens, who usually have difficulty with the conventional fingerprint-based verification because of age-related modifications.
The news is part of NADRA s overall initiative to modernize the identification systems and enhance accessibility for every citizen. Ali reconfirmed NADRA s dedication to protecting citizen rights through innovation and increased services nationwide.
