In an official statement, NADRA clarified that individuals do not need to submit photocopies of their CNICs when filling out forms or registering for services. Instead, citizens are advised to present their original CNICs along with any required documents.
Raising concerns over the growing threat of identity theft, NADRA warned of fraudulent schemes where criminals impersonate officials to deceive individuals. These fraudsters often entice victims with promises of financial rewards, prizes, or other incentives to unlawfully obtain personal information, including fingerprints, which can be misused.

NADRA stated that the move to discourage unnecessary photocopying of CNICs is part of a broader initiative aimed at safeguarding individuals from identity theft and enhancing the protection of personal data.
