Muharram 2025 Islamabad traffic plan announced
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): The Islamabad police have issued a detailed traffic diversion plan for the 9th and 10th of Muharram in light of processions on Friday.

This plan has been issued for the safety of participants and to ensure smooth traffic flow during the Muharram processions.

The main procession will start from Jamia Al-Murtaza in G-9/4 and proceed via Rohtas Road, Tufail Niazi Road, Shan-ul-Haq Road in G-9/1, and Police Quarters Service Road, ending at House No. 14 near Jamia Al-Sadiq in G-9/2.

Rohtas Road (Police Quarter Turn), Tufail Niazi Road (G-10 side), and Khurram Road will be closed to general traffic for security and smooth movement during the procession.

Commuters are advised by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Captain (R) Syed Zeeshan Haider to use alternative routes such as:
Neelum Road, 9th Avenue, Jinnah Avenue, Srinagar Highway, Margalla Road, and the 7th Avenue Loop to avoid inconvenience.

The public has been urged by CTO Zeeshan to avoid illegal parking along procession routes. In order to maintain smooth traffic, they should only park in designated areas. Movement of the procession will be closely monitored by the traffic police.
