The induction of women into the Border Military Police is being hailed as a progressive step for the conservative tribal belt of South Punjab, where women have historically faced severe restrictions on public roles. Officials say their inclusion will not only strengthen security but also encourage more women to take part in law enforcement.

Maryam Nawaz reaffirmed her government’s commitment to empowering women across Punjab, noting that such initiatives reflect a broader vision of gender equality, dignity, and opportunities for all.
