RAWALPINDI: (Web Desk) The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) said that family members were denied a meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail.

During the meeting with four lawyers, Imran Khan reportedly issued important directives.

The legal team, comprising Faisal Chaudhry, Usman Gul, Afzal Bhand and Faisal Malik Advocate, met with Imran Khan, but his sisters, Noreen Khan and Uzma Khan, as well as cousin Qasim Khan, were not allowed to meet Imran Khan.

Speaking to the media, Noreen Niazi said that jail authorities made them wait at the entrance for two hours. “Even without Aleema Khan, we two sisters were willing to meet our brother,” she added.

Meanwhile, the legal team was permitted to meet Imran Khan for about half an hour in the prison’s conference room. Aleema Khan, speaking to reporters, said they would be taking the matter to the Islamabad High Court.

Advocate Faisal Chaudhry shared that Imran Khan emphasized the need for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister and senior leadership to brief him on the controversial Mines and Minerals Bill.

“It’s important to take the people into confidence,” Khan said, adding that both the establishment and PTI are essential for the country and its people. The army alone cannot unite the nation, but political parties can.

Dismissing rumours regarding backdoor talks, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja clarified that there are no backchannel talks underway.

“If any discussions are happening on an individual level, I am not aware of them,” he added.
