He also announced the establishment of three new regional offices.
In his statement, Interior Minister Naqvi stated that starting from tomorrow (January 17), NADRA s Pak ID website will be shut down. Three new regional centers will be established in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gwadar, and Gilgit-Baltistan, and all services currently available on the Pak ID website will be provided through the mobile app.
Mohsin Naqvi mentioned that citizens, especially overseas Pakistanis, faced difficulties using the website, such as problems with uploading fingerprints and required documents after scanning them. Fraudulent elements were also exploiting fake websites to assist in the creation of counterfeit identity documents.
He added that these activities involved attempts to misuse citizens personal information, and to counter this, the website would be closed on January 17. The Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have taken strict action against them to prevent misuse of data.
He further said that the NADRA mobile app has been significantly improved, and all services, including ID cards, NICOP, POC, B-form, and FRC, will now be available on the mobile app. Citizens will be able to complete all necessary procedures for identity documents through the app from the comfort of their homes.
The new regional offices will commence operations on March 31, Naqvi said. The establishment of these offices will facilitate easier communication between NADRA officials and citizens, improving service delivery in remote areas.
Mohsin Naqvi further stated that the goal of establishing NADRA offices in all the country s tehsils will be achieved by March 31. There were only 19 tehsils left without NADRA offices, and work is progressing rapidly.
