(Web Desk): India’s water aggression against Pakistan continues as large volumes of water have been released from the Chamera Dam, raising concerns of flooding in Ravi River.

According to details, India has begun discharging a significant quantity of water from Chamera Dam-1, leading to a steady increase in water inflows into the River Ravi.

Meanwhile, Indian state media reported that all spillway gates of dams built on rivers in the Kashmir region have been opened. It is estimated that nearly 200,000 cusecs of water may be released into the Punjab rivers.

Earlier the Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) verified that India had opened all Thein Dam gates, forcing approximately 210,000 cusecs of water into Pakistan from Kot Ninan.

“In the subsequent 24 hours, water flow at Kot Ninan will increase further. Within 48 hours, a highly high flood will sweep through Jasar, Shahdara and Head Baloki," the PDMA stated. This led to a flood warning for Lahore, with district commissioners directed to monitor immediate evacuations.

Meanwhile Kartarpur is submerged after Ravi River floodwaters breached barriers, flooding the Gurdwara and nearby areas.

At Kartarpur, near the Ravi River, a protective embankment broke, causing floodwater to enter the Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara.

The strong water flow forced authorities to shut down the Narowal, Shakargarh Road for traffic.
