ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) Pakistan has shot down 77 Indian drones thus far, according to reports by Pakistan Television (PTV).

The report said that by the evening of May 8, Pakistan shot down 29 Indian drones, while an additional 48 drones were destroyed since last night.

PTV presented the report citing security sources. It added that Pakistan was giving a “befitting response” to Indian aggression.

In another development, a top Chinese-made Pakistani fighter plane shot down at least two Indian military aircraft on Wednesday, two U.S. officials told Reuters, marking a major milestone for Beijing s advanced fighter jet.

The performance of a leading Chinese fighter jet against a Western rival is being closely watched in Washington for insights into how Beijing might fare in any showdown over Taiwan or the wider Indo-Pacific.

Between May 6 and 7, India launched airstrikes on six locations in Pakistan’s major cities. At least 31 innocent civilians martyred and 57 injured in the Indian attacks.
