Former Governor Sindh Kamaluddin Azfar passes away

(Web Desk): Former Governor Sindh and senior PPP leader Kamaluddin Azfar passed away in Karachi. According to PPP Sindh General Secretary Senator Waqar Mehdi, 95-year-old Kamal Azfar had been ailing for a long time.

Kamaluddin Azfar was the Governor of Sindh during the PPP regime from 1995 to 1997. Waqar Mehdi said that Kamal Azfar’s funeral prayers will be offered tomorrow, Wednesday, after Asr prayers, in the premises of the shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi. According to a spokesperson for the Chief Minister’s House, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Governor Sindh Kamaluddin Azfar.

The Chief Minister said that Kamaluddin Azfar was a shrewd politician, the deceased also held the post of Finance Minister with his high qualifications. His political services will always be remembered. The Chief Minister has expressed his heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved. Murad Ali Shah has prayed for the high status of the deceased.

Veteran PPP Politician, Senator Sherry Rehman, also paid her tribute to former governor Sindh as she stated, “Grieved to see Barrister Kamaluddin Azfar pass away. He served in many positions including Governor Sindh, and was a well-known activist as well as politician from Karachi, who worked closely with Shaheed Benazir Bhutto on local government policies among other initiatives. Prayers for his family and loved ones in this moment of loss.”

Meanwhile, the central committee of the MQM-Pakistan has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of former Sindh Governor Kamaluddin Azfar. In its condolence statement, it expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the family of Kamaluddin Azfar and said that MQM shares your grief equally in this hour of grief. The central committee of MQM-Pakistan prayed that Allah Almighty may forgive Kamaluddin Azfar and elevate his ranks.
