Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain presided over the meeting regarding electric vehicle policy. The minister has directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to install electric vehicle charging stations at all petrol pumps in Islamabad.

Rana Tanveer Hussain also reviewed the progress of constructing 40 charging stations on motorways and national highways.

The minister stressed that the Prime Minister will soon unveil Electric Vehicles Policy to move to climate friendly solutions.

The minister highlighted the government’s efforts for sustainable development programmes and eco-friendly solutions to address the issues caused by climate change.

During the meeting, the minister also announced to provide free electric bikes to outstanding students in Islamabad.
