During the fourth meeting on the Electric Vehicles Policy, chaired by Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain, this decision was made. The ongoing progress of promoting electric vehicles in the country and developing charging infrastructure has also been reviewed.
Participants expressed satisfaction over the construction progress of 40 electric charging stations on motorways and national highways. Rana Tanveer Hussain instructed the CDA to install charging stations at all fuel stations, aiming to make Islamabad a model city for electric vehicle usage.
The minister further announced that 39,000 electric bikes and 1,900 electric rickshaws would be provided on subsidized loans, with the entire process being digitized to ensure transparency.
Rana Tanveer emphasised that the Electric Vehicles Policy would soon be unveiled, marking a significant step toward sustainable development in line with the Prime Minister s vision.
The decision to distribute free electric bikes among excellent students of Federal Board is being hailed as a major development to encourage them. The initiative aims not only to recognize the success of top-performing students but also to inspire the younger generation to adopt eco-friendly technology.
This government decision will not only promote progress in the education sector but also encourage the use of electric vehicles, contributing to environmental improvement and reducing reliance on traditional fuel sources.
