Ashura being observed nationwide with religious devotion

(Web Desk): Ashura, the 10th day of Muharram, is being observed across Pakistan with deep religious reverence in remembrance of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), the grandson of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), and the martyrs of Karbala.

In Karachi, the main Ashura procession began at Nishtar Park and will conclude at Hussainia Irania, Kharadar. Mourners performed matam, recited nohas and marsiyas, while special arrangements were made for niyaz, langar and water stations along the procession route.

In Lahore, the central procession commenced from Nisar Haveli and is proceeding through traditional routes to culminate at Karbala Gamay Shah by evening. Strict security measures have been enforced with heavy police deployment throughout the city.

In Quetta, the main Ashura procession was taken out from Imambargah Nichari on Alamdar Road, with large numbers of mourners paying tribute to Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions.

In Hyderabad, the central procession originated from Qadam Gah Mola Ali and is following its designated route. Medical camps, water stalls, and security checkpoints have been established along the way.

Faisalabad’s main procession set off from Imambargah Qasr-e-Shabbir and is passing through its traditional route. A large number of women, children, and elderly are participating.

In Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, and Multan, processions are also being held with stringent security arrangements by district authorities. Rangers and military forces have been kept on high alert to deal with any untoward incidents.

Mobile services have been partially suspended in sensitive areas to maintain law and order.

Throughout the country, religious scholars and speakers are highlighting the sacrifices of Karbala’s martyrs, urging the public to uphold values of patience, tolerance, and righteousness.
