Pakistan warns Taliban over terrorism from Afghan soil after deadly attacks kill over 80 citizens and raise global alarm.
Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, expressed serious concern over terrorist groups operating from Afghan territory while addressing the United Nations Security Council.
He made it clear that terrorism originating from Afghanistan is unacceptable and stressed that Pakistan will not compromise on its sovereignty or the safety of its citizens. He said recent terrorist attacks have killed more than 80 innocent Pakistanis, and there is evidence that Afghan soil was used to plan these incidents.
Ahmad warned that such terrorist elements continue to target Pakistan, posing a serious threat to regional peace and stability. He urged Afghanistan’s interim government, led by the Taliban, to ensure its territory is not used for terrorist activities against Pakistan or any other country.
He also called on the international community to take the matter seriously and adopt effective measures to dismantle terrorist networks operating in the region.
