Pakistan Navy has officially added the advanced warship PNS Khaibar to its operational fleet in a ceremony highlighting the country’s ongoing naval modernization program.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations, the induction ceremony was attended by Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and other senior military officials.
During his address, Admiral Naveed Ashraf stressed that Pakistan’s geographical position along important global trade and energy routes makes it necessary to maintain a strong and modern navy.

He said that Pakistan must protect its Sea Lines of Communications, which are crucial for international trade, energy supply and economic stability.
The naval chief explained that the Pakistan Navy is working to build a balanced and technologically advanced force capable of responding to modern security challenges in the region.
He also said the navy had demonstrated strong operational capability during “Marka-e-Haq”, sending a clear message that any threat to Pakistan’s maritime interests would be answered with an effective response.
According to the ISPR statement, the navy is being equipped with modern platforms and advanced technologies to improve its ability to target critical infrastructure, identify vulnerabilities and counter enemy naval forces.

Admiral Ashraf said that the induction of PNS Khaibar, along with the upcoming Hangor Class submarines, represents an important milestone in the navy’s modernization program.
These advanced platforms are expected to increase the Pakistan Navy’s combat capability, operational flexibility and strategic reach in the region.
The naval chief congratulated the crew of PNS Khaibar and expressed confidence that they would perform their duties with professionalism and dedication.
He also reaffirmed the Pakistan Navy’s commitment to defending the country’s maritime borders and protecting national interests at sea.
