In a major development, on 5 December 2025, BRA, Brahumdagh Bugti faction’s senior commander Wadera Noor Ali Chakrani, along with more than 100 former militants, has surrendered with thier arms and have taken an oath of loyalty to Pakistan in the presence of Mir Aftab Bugti at Pakistan House, Sui.

This is a landmark turning point in Dera Bugti’s journey towards peace, stability, and prosperity.

1.  A Strategic Turning Point in Dera Bugti, Balochistan

The Chakrani tribe is one of the major tribes in the Dera Bugti region of Balochistan. Their mainstreaming marks a major operational and psychological setback for the BRA, significantly reducing its ability to recruit, extort, and conduct violent activities.

Dera Bugti and Sui hold strategic national importance, being the historic source of natural gas for Balochistan and Pakistan. Stabilising this region directly strengthens energy security and national economic resilience.

2. Rejection of the So-Called “Resistance” Narrative

This collective surrender is a clear public rejection of the violence-driven “resistance” narrative peddled by anti-state elements.

The people of Dera Bugti are demonstrating a deepening trust in the State, acknowledging that real dignity, protection, and development lie with Pakistan instead of destructive path promoted by foreign-backed elements.

The perception domain has shifted decisively: the myth of armed resistance has collapsed under the weight of local realities, development aspirations, and the exposure of foreign manipulation.

3. Message to Hostile Forces

The reconciliation of over 100 misguided individuals is also a strong message to hostile agencies, particularly those who attempted to use a small faction of Baloch youth as proxies against Pakistan.

Their decision to return shows that India’s designs are failing, and the people of Balochistan reject being used as cannon fodder for someone else’s geopolitical ambitions.

4. Continuity of Successful Reconciliation Precedents

This development aligns with Pakistan’s earlier successful reconciliations, including:

Sarfraz Bangulzai, former UBA militant commander, who abandoned violence and publicly exposed how foreign handlers exploited Baloch youth.

Gulzar Imam Shambay,  founder of Baloch Nationalist Army (BNA), whose surrender and revelations further discredited the terrorist movement and confirmed external sponsorship.

These cases show that those who step forward are welcomed, reintegrated, and given a dignified path back into national life.

5. Credence to Pakistan’s State Policy of Dialogue & Reintegration

Pakistan has consistently pursued a structured, humane policy of reconciliation with all reconcilable individuals; those misled, exploited, or coerced into terrorism but willing to rejoin peaceful society.

This policy reflects the Pakistan State’s confidence, maturity, and long-term vision:

“Those who return will find dignity; those who persist in violence will isolate themselves.”

The State differentiates between misguided youth and hardened foreign-sponsored actors, offering a genuine pathway back to normalcy for the former.

6. Reintegration and Social Uplift: A Government Priority

The Government of Balochistan has an opportunity to introduce a comprehensive reintegration package for the Chakrani tribe covering:

Employment opportunities

Modern education access

Primary and advanced healthcare

Skills training for youth

Women’s empowerment programmes

Support for small businesses and agriculture

This would strengthen the credibility of the reconciliation process and ensure long-term stability.

7. A Message of Hope and Prosperity

To those who have chosen peace, the Pakistan State sends a message of appreciation and hope:

Chakranis’ return is a ray of light for every household in Dera Bugti and for wider regions of Balochistan.

They have chosen peace over fear, dignity over exploitation, and prosperity over destruction.

Their courage will inspire others still in the mountains to come home, rebuild their lives, and secure a brighter future for their children.

Balochistan’s progress on schools, roads, jobs, gas supply, and development projects will reach their full potential only when people of this land stand together.

8. Message to Those Still in the Mountains

Those fighting State of Pakistan have been misled by individuals pursuing foreign agendas.

Their families wait for them; their children deserve peace, education, and opportunity, not a future of violence and uncertainty.

The State of Pakistan is willing to welcome them back with respect and honour, provided they reject violence and embrace peace like Chakranis of Dera Bugti.

Sum Up:

Mainstreaming decision of Chakrani Tribe armed group underscores, “Dera Bugti’s path to peace is marked with unity, reconciliation, and development. Those who return will own the future; those who fuel conflict will be left behind by their own people.”
