(Web Desk): US Vice President JD Vance leaves Islamabad after 21-hour US Iran talks, as Pakistan continues mediation efforts despite no final agreement reached.

JD Vance has departed Islamabad with the US delegation following intensive US Iran talks in Islamabad that lasted 21 hours under Pakistan’s mediation efforts.

The delegation was formally seen off by senior Pakistani leadership, including Asim Munir, Ishaq Dar, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, reflecting the importance of the high-level diplomatic engagement.

The Islamabad negotiations involved continuous exchanges between US and Iranian officials, including multiple messages and written drafts aimed at narrowing differences on key issues.

Discussions reportedly focused on critical matters such as the Strait of Hormuz, nuclear concerns, sanctions relief, war-related damages, and broader efforts to end regional conflict.

Despite no final agreement being reached, the talks were described as constructive and part of ongoing diplomatic engagement between the two sides.

Shehbaz Sharif praised the negotiations, calling them an important step toward lasting peace and regional stability, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to continued mediation.

He emphasized that Pakistan will continue to play a facilitative role in US Iran diplomacy, supporting all efforts aimed at achieving meaningful and peaceful outcomes.

While the latest round of US Iran negotiations ended without a breakthrough, diplomatic channels remain open, and further discussions are expected depending on both sides’ willingness to continue engagement.

Analysts believe the continuation of dialogue, despite the absence of an agreement, highlights the importance of diplomacy over escalation in addressing long-standing regional tensions.
