Islamabad (Web Desk): Islamabad has tightened security and issued a traffic plan as police deploy over 3,500 personnel for Youm-e-Quds rallies and Friday prayers.

Authorities in Islamabad have implemented strict security arrangements and issued a traffic plan ahead of Friday prayers and Youm-e-Quds processions in the capital.

More than 3,500 officers and personnel of Islamabad Police have been deployed across the city to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of citizens. Deputy Inspector General of Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq said special security measures have been introduced around mosques and imambargahs across the city.

He added that important places of worship, including Faisal Mosque, are under strict security monitoring. Special arrangements have also been made to ensure security during Youm-e-Quds rallies and processions taking place in different parts of the capital.

“Checking at all entry and exit points of the city has been further tightened, and special checkpoints have been established,” the DIG said.

Police patrols are continuing across the city to ensure security and respond quickly to any emergency. The DIG emphasised that protecting the lives and property of citizens remains the top priority of Islamabad Police.

Meanwhile, Islamabad authorities have issued a detailed traffic diversion plan to manage the expected movement of people and vehicles during the rallies. According to the traffic police, Margalla Road will remain the only route open for entry into the Red Zone. Residents travelling to E-11 and D-12 have been advised to use service roads. Motorists entering Islamabad through GT Road should use the Tarnol (26 Number) entry point and travel via Srinagar Highway.
