According to officials, the newly introduced EMG-150 anti-drone gun can destroy or disable drones while they are flying. It can target drones within a range of 2 to 3 km.
The government plans to provide these anti-drone guns to Civil Defence units across Punjab, improving their ability to respond to modern security challenges. Training for the Bomb Disposal and Anti-Drone Squad is being carried out by the National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation to ensure proper use of the advanced system. As part of a pilot project, the first anti-drone gun has already been deployed in the Rawalpindi Division. It can operate on eight different frequencies, allowing it to counter almost any type of drone. The system works by blocking a drone’s signals, forcing it to land, change direction, or completely stop working. It can also safely bring down drones without causing major damage. This advanced gun can jam multiple navigation systems, including GPS and others, and has a powerful output that ensures effective performance even in extreme temperatures. Officials said this step is in line with the vision of Maryam Nawaz Sharif to strengthen Civil Defence capabilities across the province. Authorities also confirmed that more anti-drone guns will be produced in the future to protect sensitive locations and improve overall security in Punjab.
