DERA ISMAIL KHAN (Web Desk): Security forces successfully foiled a terrorist attack on the Police Training Centre late Friday night, killing at least four militants, including a suicide bomber, in a fierce exchange of fire.

According to DPO Sajjad Ahmed Sahibzada, the terrorists launched a sudden assault on the training facility but were quickly neutralized by police personnel who responded with heavy gunfire. A large contingent of security forces immediately arrived, surrounded the area, and ensured no attacker escaped.

Police confirmed that the premises of the training centre were completely cleared, and all attackers had been killed. A search operation led by DPO Sahibzada was launched in nearby areas to ensure no further threat remained.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud explosion near the centre before the gunfire began. The DI Khan Police Public Relations Officer, Yaqoob Khan, told reporters that “a suicide bomber and two terrorists have been killed” during the operation.

This attack follows a series of recent militant assaults in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan targeting police, security forces, and law enforcement personnel. Violence in the region has escalated since the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan ended its ceasefire with the government in 2022.

Just a day earlier, a senior army officer was martyred during an intelligence-based operation in the same district, while a policeman lost his life in another attack on a checkpoint earlier this week.
