A border clash erupted after an alleged intrusion by Afghan forces along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, prompting a strong response from the Pakistan Army in the Kurram sector.

Security sources said that a total of 44 militants were killed during the ongoing exchange of fire. In the latest phase of fighting, eight more Taliban fighters were reportedly eliminated, pushing the overall death toll significantly higher.

According to officials, several key hideouts near the Kurram sector were destroyed during the retaliatory operation. The armed forces used advanced weapons and modern surveillance systems to counter what they described as hostile movement across the border.

The situation in the Kurram sector remains tense, with security forces placed on high alert. Authorities said troops are fully prepared to respond swiftly to any further aggression in the adjoining border areas.

Sources emphasized that Pakistan’s armed forces will not compromise on national sovereignty and territorial integrity. They warned that any unprovoked firing or border violation would be met with a firm and effective response.
