The Pakistan Navy successfully conducted a Live Weapon Firing (LWF) of the FM-90 (N) ER surface-to-air missile in the North Arabian Sea, ARY News reported on Monday, quoting the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The missile firing exercise demonstrated the Navy’s ability to engage and neutralize highly agile and fast-moving aerial targets.
Operational Readiness Highlighted
ISPR stated that the live firing once again underscored the Pakistan Navy’s modern combat capabilities and operational readiness. The exercise validated the effectiveness of naval warships and missile systems in protecting national maritime interests.
Leadership Commends Personnel
Rear Admiral Abdul Munib, Commander Pakistan Fleet, observed the demonstration and praised the officers and sailors for their professionalism. He reaffirmed the Navy’s commitment to ensuring robust maritime defence and safeguarding Pakistan’s naval borders.
Technological Advancements
The Navy has been actively testing indigenous weapons systems. On November 25, a successful test flight of a ship-launched Anti-Ship Ballistic Missile was conducted, capable of engaging sea and ground targets with high precision. The system features advanced guidance and manoeuvrability, reflecting Pakistan’s growing technological capabilities.

The test flight was witnessed by Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of Naval Staff, along with senior scientists and engineers.
