The registrar office of the Islamabad High Court has raised an objection to a petition seeking suspension of sentence and release on bail for the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in the Toshakhana Two case.
According to court sources, the objection states that the applicant failed to remove earlier objections related to the main appeal within the stipulated time. The registrar office had granted seven days to address the objections, but the deadline has now expired.
Officials said that as long as objections on the main appeal remain pending, the request for suspension of sentence cannot proceed. The registrar office questioned how a plea for bail and sentence suspension could be entertained when procedural requirements for the primary appeal have not been fulfilled.
The development marks another legal hurdle in the Toshakhana Two case, which has already attracted significant political and legal attention. The case involves allegations regarding the handling and sale of state gifts received during official tenure.

Legal experts note that procedural compliance is essential before substantive relief can be considered by the court. The registrar’s objection does not constitute a final judicial ruling but highlights deficiencies that must be addressed before the matter moves forward.
The PTI founder’s legal team is expected to respond by attempting to remove the objections within the required framework so the appeal and related plea for suspension of sentence can be formally taken up for hearing.
