ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, have been granted bail in the Toshakhana fake receipt case after the court observed that no evidence was presented against them.

The Islamabad court approved their bail on surety bonds of Rs50,000 each. Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was also granted bail in five other cases, including those related to attempted murder and defaming the army.

According to the FIR, the couple allegedly committed fraud by presenting a fake receipt showing gifts, such as watches and cufflinks, obtained from Toshakhana with forged signatures. However, Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majuka said the prosecution failed to provide proof of these allegations.

In the defamation case against the army, the court noted that no evidence had been brought to show that Imran committed the offence. The FIR claimed that Imran Imran, during a TV interview, accused army officers of trying to defeat and harm him. The complainant also stated that the PTI chief used derogatory language against top army officials, creating unrest.
