(Web Desk): An Islamabad court grants pre-arrest bail to Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi over lack of evidence in multiple cases.

An Islamabad court has granted pre-arrest bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan in six cases and to Bushra Bibi in one case.

The District and Sessions Court in Islamabad approved the bail petitions against surety bonds of 50,000 rupees each. Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka issued written orders approving bail in cases related to alleged fake receipts in the Toshakhana matter and other charges.

According to the written judgment, the prosecution failed to present concrete evidence against the accused. The court noted that the prosecution claimed the receipts were seen on social media but did not conduct any forensic verification of the documents. It further stated that no proof was provided to show that alleged fake receipts were submitted to the Election Commission or the Cabinet Division.

Regarding cases linked to the May 9 protests and attempted murder allegations, the court said the prosecution could not establish his presence at the crime scenes or prove that the protests occurred at his direction.

Multiple cases against Imran Khan are registered in police stations including Kohsar, Secretariat and Karachi.
