Anmol alias Pinky gets major relief as court clears her in three drug cases
The Additional District and Sessions Court South heard the cases and accepted Pinky’s pleas. Her lawyer, Anam Kausar, appeared before the court during the proceedings.
The defence told the court that the co-accused in the cases had already been acquitted. Ali and Fahmida were acquitted in 2024, according to the defence.
Defence points to earlier acquittals
Pinky’s lawyer argued that she had been linked to the cases mainly through statements allegedly given by the co-accused. The defence said those earlier acquittals weakened the possibility of securing a conviction against Pinky.
After hearing both sides, the court approved her acquittal in the remaining cases as well. It ordered that she be released if she was not required in any other case.
The three Gizri cases were registered in 2020, 2021 and 2022. The latest ruling gives Pinky relief in these cases but does not end the other proceedings against her.
Other cases remain against Pinky
Pinky was arrested on May 12, 2026, during a joint operation by police and a federal intelligence agency in Karachi’s Garden area. Police said around 1.5 kilogrammes of cocaine, a 9mm pistol and chemicals allegedly used in cocaine production were recovered from her possession.
Following her arrest, police also linked her to several previously registered cases. Authorities initially said she faced 20 cases in Sindh and three in Lahore, but later investigation records and different charge sheets put the total at 21.
Police and investigators have accused Pinky of involvement in drug trafficking and allegedly operating an organised drug network. These claims include allegations involving drugs, illegal weapons, attempted murder and murder, but the allegations have not been proven in court.
Authorities have also claimed that her alleged network reached beyond Karachi and involved several facilitators. Investigators said they examined her contacts, bank transactions and alleged drug supply activities.
A drug case registered at Garden police station remains among the important proceedings against her. Courts have also heard bail pleas involving people whom police accused of collecting money for Pinky and helping her alleged network.
Murder case also under investigation
A murder case registered at Baghdadi police station also recently saw a major development. On August 5, the Judicial Magistrate South approved the police’s final charge sheet in the case.
Police changed the murder charge to one relating to death caused by an act. Investigators had earlier found an unidentified body with a box bearing Pinky’s name.
However, a chemical examination report from the University of Karachi attributed the death to drug intoxication. Following the report, police dropped the murder charge.
An interim charge sheet filed by the Counter Terrorism Department in July stated that 21 cases had been registered against Pinky. It also alleged that suspects found with hashish and cocaine had told investigators during questioning that they were connected to Pinky’s alleged drug supply network.
Police said Pinky was questioned while she was in jail. The charge sheet described her as the alleged head of the network, but these claims remain subject to judicial determination.
Pinky’s acquittal in the three Gizri cases is an important legal relief for her. However, it does not mean that all cases against her have ended.
The court’s decision shows that allegations must be supported by evidence before a conviction can be secured. The remaining cases will now be decided separately as proceedings continue through the courts.
