SJC dismisses 19 complaints against judges

(Web Desk): The Supreme Judicial Council has unanimously dismissed 19 complaints filed against judges, while 5 complaints have been deferred for the time being.

A meeting of the Supreme Judicial Council was held under the chairmanship of Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, with Justice Mansoor Ali Shah participating via video link. Justice Muneeb Akhtar, Chief Justice of Lahore High Court Justice Aalia Neelum, and other members also attended the session.

According to a press release issued by the Supreme Judicial Council, the council reviewed a total of 24 complaints against judges. Of these, 19 were resolved and dismissed unanimously, while action on 5 complaints has been temporarily postponed.

The statement further mentioned that the Supreme Judicial Council Secretariat Service Rules 2025 were approved during the meeting. The draft of the new service rules was formally passed, though further legal review is required for amendments to the code of conduct, and consultation will continue regarding the inquiry procedures.
