ISLAMABAD: (Suno News) The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday restored the appeal of former prime minister Imran Khan’s spouse Bushra Bibi seeking orders to shift her from Bani Gala residence to Adiala Jail.

The IHC had dismissed the appeal for non-prosecution as the former first lady’s lawyers Barrister Salman Safdar, Usman Riaz Gill and Khalid Yusuf Chaudhary could not appeared before the court. However, yesterday, an application was filed for the restoration of the appeal. After hearing the arguments on the application the IHC restored the appeal.

Justice Miagul Hassan Aurangzeb conducted the hearing of the application for restoration of the appeal. Usman Riaz Gill represented the former first lady while Abdul Rehman represented the state.

On the application, it was argued that the lawyers could reach the court due to traffic jam at Sarina Chowk check point and it was not deliberate. They further argued that if the petition was not restored, the applicant would suffer an irreparable loss.

During proceedings in the court, the state counsel did not oppose the request. The court sought help on the next hearing date about requirements for a place to be declared sub-jail.

The IHC judge ordered authorities to make arrangements for medical examination of Bushra Bibi. The court then issued instructions for fixing the appeal on April 22 and adjourned the hearing.
