Pakistan issues new e-passport fee schedule for 5 and 10-year passports
New e-passport fee schedule announced
The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has issued a new fee schedule for Pakistani citizens applying for e-passports. It covers normal and urgent processing for passports valid for five or 10 years.
Under the new schedule, applicants can choose between passports containing 36 or 72 pages. The fee depends on the validity period, number of pages and processing category.
Fees for 5-year e-passports
For a five-year e-passport with 36 pages, the normal processing fee is Rs9,000. Applicants choosing a 72-page passport will have to pay Rs16,500.
For urgent processing, the fee for a 36-page, five-year e-passport is Rs15,000. A 72-page passport in the same category costs Rs27,000.
Fees for 10-year e-passports
For a 10-year e-passport with 36 pages, the normal fee is Rs13,500. The fee for a 72-page passport is Rs24,750.
Under urgent processing, applicants must pay Rs22,500 for a 36-page passport. A 72-page, 10-year e-passport costs Rs40,500 under the urgent category.
Applicants advised to confirm fees
Citizens are advised to confirm the applicable fee with the relevant official passport authorities before submitting their applications. They should check the passport’s validity period, page count and processing category to avoid problems during the application process.
The new schedule gives applicants a clear idea of the cost of obtaining an e-passport. Those who need their passports urgently will have to pay more, while the total fee also depends on the number of pages and the passport’s validity.
Applicants should verify the latest charges through official passport authorities before paying. This can help them choose the right category and avoid unexpected costs.
