ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): Pakistan Hajj 2027 applications are expected to open later this week as the government prepares to launch the application process with a new payment plan.

Pakistan Hajj 2027 applications likely to begin this week

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony is expected to start receiving applications for Hajj 2027 under the government scheme later this week.

According to ministry sources, an official announcement about the application schedule is expected within the next few days. The new process aims to make Hajj arrangements easier and more organised for intending pilgrims across Pakistan.

Officials say applicants will be able to submit their forms after the ministry formally launches the application process.

Pilgrims can pay Hajj expenses in two instalments

The government is expected to allow applicants to pay Hajj expenses in two instalments, reducing the financial burden for many families.

Under the proposed plan, applicants choosing the long Hajj package will pay an initial instalment of Rs500,000. Those selecting the short Hajj package will deposit Rs550,000 as their first payment.

The long Hajj package is expected to last between 38 and 42 days, while the short package will cover approximately 20 to 25 days.

Sources also said the estimated Hajj cost for overseas Pakistanis is expected to remain around Rs1,250,000.

Registration for future Hajj years remains open

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has kept the registration process open for Hajj until 2030, allowing people to register for future pilgrimage years in advance.

According to available information, more than 380,000 people have already completed their Hajj registration under the new system.

Officials believe early registration will help improve planning and make the selection process more transparent in the coming years.

Earlier, the Ministry of Religious Affairs introduced a detailed 16-page Multi-Year Hajj Policy and Plan covering the period from 2027 to 2030.

The policy is designed to improve transparency, strengthen long-term planning and reduce overall Hajj expenses through better management.

Under the new framework, Pakistan plans to sign three to four-year agreements in Saudi Arabia for essential Hajj services, including airline travel, accommodation, transportation, catering and baggage handling.

Officials believe long-term contracts could help control costs and improve service quality for Pakistani pilgrims.

Government scheme, digital payments and Hajj Savings Scheme

The new policy reserves 60 percent of Pakistan’s Hajj quota for the government scheme, while the remaining 40 percent will be allocated to private Hajj operators.

The ministry has also decided to end paper-based cash transactions. All payments will now be processed through the State Bank of Pakistan and integrated digital payment systems to improve transparency and efficiency.

Another important feature is the introduction of the Hajj Savings Scheme. Under this programme, intending pilgrims can deposit 10 percent of the estimated Hajj cost to secure priority registration for their preferred Hajj year.

The priority system will operate on a first-come, first-served basis, giving applicants an opportunity to plan their pilgrimage well in advance.
