BISP quarterly payment to rise to Rs18,000 from next fiscal year
The government has decided to increase the quarterly installment under the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) to Rs18,000 from the next fiscal year, providing greater financial support to low-income families across Pakistan.
The increase is part of the government’s efforts to strengthen social protection and improve financial assistance for deserving households facing rising living costs. BISP Chairperson Rubina Khalid confirmed the decision and said the programme is designed to promote dignity and economic independence for poor families.
She also criticized negative propaganda against the initiative, saying the program continues to play an important role in supporting vulnerable sections of society.
Rubina Khalid reiterated that the quarterly payment will be increased to Rs18,000 from the upcoming fiscal year, offering greater relief to eligible beneficiaries. She further announced that, starting from July, all BISP payments will be made exclusively through digital wallets to enhance transparency, efficiency, and convenience.

Officials believe the shift to digital payments will make fund transfers faster, reduce delays, and strengthen the monitoring system for financial assistance. The new payment mechanism is also expected to make it easier for beneficiaries to receive their funds securely while reducing dependence on traditional cash distribution methods.
The latest announcement reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to modernize welfare programs and enhance the delivery of financial assistance to deserving families nationwide.
