BISP education stipend registration process revealed
The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has outlined the registration process for parents seeking educational stipends for their children under the Benazir Taleemi Wazaif programme.
To qualify, the child must belong to an active BISP Kafalat beneficiary family. A NADRA-issued B-Form or Child Registration Certificate (CRC) is also mandatory, while the child must be physically present during enrolment.
Documents required for registration
Parents should take the child to the nearest BISP tehsil office or enrolment centre. They need to provide the beneficiary’s CNIC, the child’s B-Form and a school admission slip containing details verified by the teacher.
After registration, an enrolment slip is completed by the school. The slip includes the child’s class, section, teacher’s name and other required information before being returned to the BISP office for verification.
70% attendance required for stipend
The BISP education stipend is linked to school attendance. According to BISP, beneficiary children must maintain at least 70% attendance each quarter to continue receiving payments after the initial enrolment payment.
If a child changes schools, parents should inform the relevant BISP office so the record can be updated.
BISP registration is free
BISP has repeatedly stated that its services are free. Beneficiaries should report anyone demanding money during the registration or payment process. BISP also advises beneficiaries to rely only on official communication channels.
