Lahore, October 27, 2025: The Punjab School Education Department has officially revised the winter working hours for teachers across the province. The new schedule will take effect from Monday, October 27, 2025, and will remain in force until Monday, April 15, 2026.
According to the latest official notification, the updated timings apply to both single-shift and double-shift schools operating under the Punjab government. The department stated that the change aims to ensure better time management and comfort for teachers and students during the colder months.
Revised School Timings for Single-Shift Schools
For single-shift schools, teachers will now work from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, while Friday’s hours have been reduced to 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
Revised School Timings for Double-Shift Schools
In double-shift schools, teachers in the morning shift will follow the same schedule as single-shift schools — 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM (Monday to Thursday) and 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM (Friday).
Teachers in the afternoon (evening) shift will report from 12:45 PM to 4:00 PM between Monday and Thursday, and from 1:45 PM to 4:00 PM on Fridays.
Saturday Attendance for Teachers
Additionally, the Punjab School Education Department has made it mandatory for teachers to attend school on alternate Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. These sessions will be reserved for administrative work, training programs, and academic planning activities.
