PMDC announces second phase of NRE for foreign graduates

LAHORE (Web Desk): The Pakistan Medical Dental Council (PMDC) has announced the second phase of the National Registration Exam (NRE) for foreign medical graduates, giving candidates another chance to qualify.

According to the council, the National Registration Exam Step-II will be conducted in two phases. The first phase of the exam will be held on January 24 and January 25, while the second phase will take place on January 31 and February 1.

PMDC confirmed that the exams will be conducted on weekends, specifically on Saturdays and Sundays, to make it easier for candidates to appear without affecting their work or study schedules.

The council also informed candidates that online registration for the exam will remain open until January 12. Applicants can complete the registration process through the official PMDC website.

In a significant relief measure, PMDC announced that candidates who failed the exam in previous attempts will be allowed to reappear. This decision has been taken under a PMDC resolution approved on July 24, 2025.

Officials said the decision reflects PMDC’s effort to support foreign medical graduates and ensure fairness in the registration process. The council encouraged all eligible candidates to apply within the given timeline to avoid missing the opportunity.
