The Chief Executive Officer of the District Education Authority Murree confirmed the announcement, explaining that the extended break is part of the district’s annual winter schedule.
This allows students to stay safe and comfortable during the region’s harsh winter.
For the rest of Punjab, schools will observe winter holidays from December 22, 2025, to January 11, 2026. Classes will resume on Monday, January 12. Both public and private schools across the province are included in this schedule.
Other provinces have also announced winter breaks. In Balochistan, schools in colder regions will remain closed from December 16, 2025, to February 28, 2026, while institutions in warmer areas will close from December 22, 2025, to January 4, 2026.
Sindh’s College Education Department has declared a shorter winter break, with colleges closed from December 22 to December 31, 2025.
