KARACHI (Web Desk): The Anti-Corruption Establishment has issued investigation notices to students amid an ongoing probe into alleged result tampering at the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi.

According to media sources, these notices were delivered through the students’ schools.

However, many parents are upset because the students, including girls, were asked to appear at the ACE West office around 12:30 am.

Parents expressed strong concerns, asking, “How can we send our daughters to the Anti-Corruption office in the middle of the night?”

The investigation began about a year and a half ago, focusing on claims that some exam results were changed illegally. Despite the long inquiry, ACE has not yet found enough evidence to charge key officials.

Earlier, cases were filed against two former chairmen and two exam controllers of BIEK, but no solid proof has been found.

Now, for the first time, Karachi students, many of whom have already passed medical and engineering entrance exams and are studying in universities, are being called for direct questioning.

In January 2025, the new interim Chairman of the Karachi Intermediate Education Board, Syed Sharaf Ali Shah, set up an inquiry committee to address students’ worries about the exam results.

He took office just a day before the committee was formed. During a meeting with the Secretary of the Universities and Boards Department, they decided the committee would review the results and investigate complaints within one month.

The Chairman stressed that students are the future, and every effort will be made to solve their problems.

The committee will work fairly, and students and parents are encouraged to share their concerns and suggestions with the Board.

This ongoing investigation into the Karachi Intermediate exam results reveals serious concerns about exam integrity and transparency in the education system.

The unusual step of summoning students at midnight has sparked public outrage and highlights the sensitive nature of the case.

Despite a lengthy inquiry, the lack of conclusive evidence against officials raises questions about the effectiveness of the investigation.

Meanwhile, students and parents face anxiety and frustration, especially as many students have moved on to higher education.

The formation of a new inquiry committee under fresh leadership shows an effort to restore trust and ensure fairness, but it remains to be seen how quickly and effectively these concerns will be addressed.

Transparency and timely communication will be crucial to calm fears and uphold confidence in Karachi’s education system.
