KARACHI (Web Desk): The Karachi Board of Intermediate Education has announced the annual results for Class 12 Pre-Medical exams, revealing that girls once again outshone boys whose overall success rate remained worryingly low.

According to the released statistics, a total of 28,259 students registered for the exams, out of which 15,572 passed, marking an overall success rate of 55.11 percent.

The performance of male students was a cause for concern — only 2,578 out of 5,519 candidates managed to pass, a mere 9 percent success rate.

In contrast, girls achieved remarkable success, with 12,994 out of 22,740 candidates passing, recording a 47.56 percent success rate.

When it comes to grades, girls outperformed boys across the board. Only 1.17 percent of boys secured an A-1 grade compared to 6.14 percent of girls. For A grades, 1.73 percent of boys succeeded against 10.97 percent of girls. In the B grade category, boys stood at 2.23 percent, while girls reached 12.67 percent.

Education experts say this clear gap reflects differences in study habits, effort, and learning environments. Parents and teachers praised the achievement of girls, calling it proof that focus and hard work can lead to success in any field.

The Karachi Education Board confirmed that results are available on its official website, while original mark sheets will be issued in the coming days.

These results highlight a significant gender gap in academic performance, with girls excelling in both pass percentage and top grades. The data suggests that stronger study commitment and consistent academic discipline among girls are key drivers of their success. For boys, the figures signal an urgent need for targeted educational support and motivation strategies to improve future outcomes.
