The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced that applications are now open for the Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT) 2025. The test is scheduled to be held on September 28, 2025, while the last date for online registration is September 9, 2025.

According to HEC, the test is mandatory for students seeking admission in MS/M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs at Pakistani universities that accept HAT. It is also required for those applying for HEC-sponsored local and international scholarships.

Applicants who have already applied for admissions or scholarships and meet the eligibility criteria can also register for the test. The commission emphasized that only candidates appearing in HAT will be considered for relevant programs and funding opportunities.
Students can complete their registration by visiting etc.hec.gov.pk, while complaints or queries can be submitted through onlinehelp.hec.gov.pk. HEC has urged candidates to apply well before the deadline to avoid any last-minute issues.
The Higher Education Aptitude Test is considered a key step for students aspiring to pursue higher studies and research opportunities both within Pakistan and abroad.
