According to a notification issued by the School Education Department, single shift schools will start at 8:30 am from Monday to Thursday and close at 1:00 pm. On Friday, schools will open at 8:30 am and close earlier at 12:30 pm.
Double shift schools will also follow a new schedule. The first shift will begin at 8:30 am and end at 12:30 pm from Monday to Thursday. The second shift will start at 1:00 pm and continue until 4:00 pm.

On Friday, the second shift will begin at 2:30 pm and end at 5:00 pm. This change is aimed at making it easier for students and staff to manage their routine during ramazan.
The department also clarified that girls’ schools will start classes 15 minutes earlier than the given timings and will also close 15 minutes earlier.
In another important decision, the Punjab government has allowed businesses to remain open 24 hours during ramazan. The restriction requiring shops to close at 10:00 pm has been temporarily removed.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed commissioners, deputy commissioners, and other officials to ensure full implementation of this decision to facilitate citizens during the holy month.
This move is expected to provide relief to both students and business owners during ramazan.
