This time, merit for the medical students in private medical colleges have dropped to around 60% whereas merit for the government nursing colleges is 83%.
According to the government nursing colleges, 6100 total seats are offered for the medical students, which is seeking attention of the students who are attracted to choose nursing programs instead of paying heavy fee to private medical colleges.
In contrast to government nursing colleges, private medical colleges are offering up to 5150 seats for MBBS program. Specialists say that high tuition fees of private medical colleges are pushing back students to choose government nursing colleges for their further studies.

Admission deadline in private medical colleges for MBBS has extended to February 28 where as for the BDS program it is 15 March. Officials highlighted the fact that no more extensions will be granted. Therefore, it is the last chance for student to enroll in their selected private medical and dental colleges.
Regardless of the prolongation, still some seats in private medical and dental colleges remain unoccupied. Despite the fact of extensions in admission deadlines, the colleges are trying harder to fill the seats. That demonstrates the growing preference for more affordable government education.
