Punjab okays school teacher interns’ recruitment as STIs to join this week
Teachers to join schools
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat announced that the STIs will start their duties soon. The recruitment aims to reduce the shortage of teachers in government schools across the province.
Temporary teaching positions
According to Rana Sikandar Hayat, the teacher interns will be hired on a temporary basis to provide teaching services. They will perform teaching duties at primary, elementary and secondary levels.
Focus on youth and schools
The minister said the STI programme has two main goals. It will help fill vacant teaching needs while also giving young people valuable experience in the teaching profession.
The programme could provide immediate support to government schools facing teacher shortages. It may also give young graduates an opportunity to gain practical classroom experience.
