Web Desk: Private schools have urged the government to end Saturday holiday, aiming for an academic year of 180 days and adjustments to summer vacation Pakistan.

Private schools in Pakistan are requesting the removal of Saturday holiday in the next academic year to ensure students get a full academic year of 180 days.

Qazi Naeem Anjum, head of Pak Aiwan-e-Taleem for Private Schools, proposed limiting summer vacation Pakistan to two months and shortening winter holidays to 10 days. He said that this change will help schools cover the syllabus fully.

Anjum explained that last year, unannounced breaks reduced the effective academic year to only 127 days, making it hard to complete lessons.

He added that private schools also plan summer camps to make up for lost time and ensure students stay engaged.
