HEC announces new foreign degree recognition rules for students
The commission has issued an important advisory, urging students to carefully verify foreign university programs before enrollment.
According to the latest HEC foreign degree rules, students must ensure that the mode of study approved by the university matches the actual method through which the degree is completed.
Under the new HEC degree recognition policy, degrees registered as conventional or on-campus programs but completed entirely through online or blended learning methods may not be recognized after Spring 2026.
The exception applies only if the arrangement has been approved by the relevant regulatory authority in the country where the institution operates.
