QUETTA (Web Desk): The Punjab government has announced 460 scholarships for students from Balochistan, offering a major opportunity for young people to continue their education.

According to an official statement, applications have been invited under the Punjab Education Endowment Fund. The program aims to support talented and deserving students from Balochistan.

The announcement has been widely welcomed in the province, with many people expressing gratitude to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for this initiative.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti said this step will strengthen cooperation between the two provinces. He added that it will open doors to quality education for students who need support.

He said the scholarship program is an important move to improve education standards and ensure equal opportunities. Many students from underprivileged backgrounds will now get a chance to study in leading institutions across Pakistan.

Bugti further said that access to quality education is the basic right of every child. He added that Balochistan is moving forward on the path of development, and such steps will help build a better future.

Earlier, the government also announced major plans to invest in modern education. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan will invest $1 billion in artificial intelligence by 2030.

He said AI will be introduced in schools, and 1,000 fully funded PhD scholarships in AI will be offered to students across the country.

In addition, a nationwide program will train one million people in AI skills to improve job opportunities and support economic growth.
