Terrorist attack on police checkpost in Mianwali thwarted
Mianwali District Police Officer (DPO) Mianwali Akhtar Farooq arrived at the checkpost to boost the morale of the officers.
MIANWALI: (Suno News) Mianwali police successfully thwarted a terrorist attack on the Qabul Khel checkpost in the Isa Khel area.

Punjab police spokesperson said that 12 to 14 Khawarij terrorists had attacked the checkpost with rockets and hand grenades under the cover of darkness.

As a result, two police officials sustained critical injuries. However, the police retaliated with heavy gunfire and made the terrorists retreat.

On information, Mianwali District Police Officer (DPO) Mianwali Akhtar Farooq arrived at the checkpost to boost the morale of the officers. He met the personnel on duty and commended their bravery.

The Isa Khel deputy superintendent of police (DSP) and the station house officer (SHO) also rushed to the checkpost with additional contingents of police.

A search operation was launched in the area for the arrest of the terrorists, who are believed to have suffered significant losses.

Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Usman Anwar commended the police officials at the Qabul Khel checkpost for their bravery, marking the ninth such attack on Punjab police in recent months that has been successfully repelled.

The IGP said that Punjab police stood as a strong defence against terrorists at inter-provincial border posts and would continue to thwart enemy plans in the future.
